Meet Charlotte

Hi, I'm Charlotte Hoffman and I live in Greenbelt with my wife, our two kids, two dogs, and the best cat in the world. For the past eight years, I've been fighting for the rights of marginalized Marylanders at the state and national level in a variety of roles, including as a civil rights advocate, as a union organizer, and even as a consumer representative on the Maryland Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors (where I now serve as 1st Vice President!) and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. While I've been able to get a lot done from outside of government—including passing laws to ban discrimination by healthcare providers, prohibit the "gay panic" defense in murder and assault cases, and repeal discriminatory criminal laws—in taking this next step, I hope to be able to advocate more directly for my fellow Marylanders and residents of District 22.
